Role: Locum Pharmacy Technician Banding: Band 5 Location: Birmingham Start Date: ASAP Duration: Ongoing Rate: Day: £19 - £22 per hour About the role: The Pharmacy team at seeking a motivated and experienced Pharmacy Technician to join our team and contribute to our mission of delivering outstanding healthcare services. As a Band 4/5 Pharmacy Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting the pharmacy department’s operations. Duties and Responsibilities: The successful candidate will lead day-to-day stock top-ups to wards and departments, including placing electronic orders on Wellsky. They will communicate closely with external stock providers and actively support and participate in stock management. The role involves chasing outstanding orders and following up on MCS issues, responding to priority and urgent requests, and communicating anticipated stock delays. Additionally, the technician will support administrative duties, assist the senior technician with day-to-day processes, and help with drug alerts. They will also support medicine safe and secure storage audits, perform ward-based medicines management technician duties (depending on experience), and contribute to service improvements in the medicines management and wider pharmacy service. Furthermore, the technician will support the supply of neonatal parenteral nutrition by dispensing standard parenteral nutrition bags. Qualifications and Experience: Essential: Registered Pharmacy Technician with GPhC. Proven experience in a UK hospital pharmacy setting. Desirable: Experience with Wellsky or similar electronic ordering systems is desirable. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
