JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to Technical Market Development Manager - Adhesives, this position is principally application lab-based to support the team's activities in innovation projects, customer support, and generation of technical marketing data.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Observe legislative, safety, and environmental requirements of the Warrington site.
2. Prepare and characterize adhesive formulations (including 1 and 2 K Polyurethane, reactive hot melt adhesives, and thermoplastic adhesives) derived from Caprolactone technology in the laboratory, encompassing both routine work and some method development studies.
3. Carry out application testing (reactivity, viscosity, synthesis, etc.) of adhesives and associated intermediates.
4. Support the Development Chemist on the day-to-day operation of the Adhesives Application Lab, including implementation of lab requests, maintaining stock inventory, and ensuring continuous operation of lab equipment.
5. Participate in other activities in the Capa Innovation Lab, e.g., Capa polyol sample preparation, new product design, and process development projects, as dictated by the work program.
6. Comply with Ingevity Group IT and confidentiality procedures & policies.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
1. A BSc or MSc degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, or related discipline.
2. Preferred but not essential: Experience with polyurethane chemistry.
3. Experience in an industrial polymer development laboratory.
4. Experience of working in a chemical laboratory.
5. Experience of analytical, physical, and application testing of polymeric materials.
