Research Fellow in Computational Geomechanics
This role will be based on the university campus but a significant amount of work will be conducted at the offices of Three Cliffs Geomechanical Analysis in Swansea, with scope for it to be undertaken in a hybrid manner. We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements.
This role is specifically to invert results from laboratory experiments to develop constitutive models that can be used in large-scale coupled flow-geomechanical models for assessing the safety of disposing nuclear waste in low strength sedimentary rocks (i.e. clay-mineral-rich mudrocks).
The post is for two years starting as soon as possible and is on a 50% basis.
Benefits
1. 26 days holiday plus approx. 16 Bank Holidays/days that the University is closed by custom (including Christmas) – That’s 42 days a year!
