The Data Team within Welsh Water works alongside every area of our business, to develop solutions that add real value. Business intelligence, a form of analytics, provides us with the information that helps us understand “what happened” and make key data-led decisions.
What you’ll be responsible for
Working within a highly skilled and motivated Data Team, you will use your past experience in a similar BI role to deliver high quality visualisations that support decision-making. This will include:
* Using BI tools such as Power BI to build dashboards and reports.
* Communicating with stakeholders to identify user needs and working in an agile manner to produce high quality automated reports.
* Driving the Business Intelligence Centre of Excellence by sharing best practices and promoting Welsh Water’s Reporting Standards.
* Facilitating training sessions for business users to raise awareness of business intelligence.
* Utilising Microsoft’s Power Platform to identify efficiencies.
* Tracking projects using DevOps and maintaining reporting refresh schedules.
* Collaborating with the Data Engineering Team to develop ETLs and data connections.
* Reviewing existing business intelligence processes to work more efficiently.
* Supporting other BI Developers and colleagues who use BI.
About you
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Extensive experience in business intelligence projects and familiarity with BI reporting tools (e.g., Power BI).
- Query ability (SQL, DAX).
- Experience with databases, ETL processes, and data warehouses.
- Ability to create efficient Data Models for Business Intelligence.
- Experience in gathering and documenting business requirements.
