Job Title: Youth Mental Health Worker

Salary: £80-£95 per day

About the Role:
An alternative provision for children aged 5 to 16 in Oxford is looking for a Youth Worker to support the social skills, emotional wellbeing, and mental health of the students within their school. The school provides an alternative education for children who have social and emotional difficulties such as anxiety and school refusal due to developmental trauma and adverse childhood experiences, as well as specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia and dyscalculia.
The Youth Worker will work to build relationships with these young people and support them to make positive life choices using de-escalation, positive reinforcement, and restorative practice.
Responsibilities:
1. Support children's social, emotional, and mental health development.
2. Provide tailored education to meet individual needs.
3. Assist in building self-esteem and engagement in schooling.
4. Utilize restorative practices and positive reinforcement techniques.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have a degree in a related field or experience working with young people. Resilience and an open mind are essential to support children who have experienced trauma and require assistance with their mental health challenges.
