Chyngton School requires an attendance officer to join our highly successful team to continue to build on our attendance strategy.
You will work closely with school leaders and other staff to support children and their families to improve children's regular attendance at school.
Working alongside the Deputy Headteacher, you will identify and support those children who become 'persistent absentees' and work to improve their attendance through regular communication and intervention.
This role is based in the school's admin office and includes typical reception duties, including welcoming visitors, managing enquiries, receiving telephone phone calls and other administrative duties.
You will be working as part of our friendly and supportive office team alongside our pupil welfare team. You may have a background in school administration or working to support children's attendance. A kind, warm and empathetic manner both in person and on the telephone is essential for the role along with some working knowledge of Microsoft Excel being an advantage.
