Main duties of the job The main duty of the post holder is either to support the delivery of cancer experimental medicine studies and clinical trials conducted at the Sir Bobby Robson Cancer Trials Research Centre or late phase studies and haematology research on ward 11 Freeman Hospital. The fellow will be expected to serve as sub-investigator for research studies/clinical trials under the supervision of the respective principal investigator. The specific duties the fellow will be involved depends on individual trials but typically involves taking informed consent, assessment against eligibility criteria, assessment of disease activity and severity, assessment and reporting of adverse events, supervision of administration of the investigational medicinal product (IMP) and provide medical emergency cover for research participants attending the facility. It is expected that the fellow will be supporting several trials concurrently.
