A bit about the role Our Silverton Short Breaks Service offers support to children and young people with disabilities. Our aim is to reduce the impact of the disability on the child's day to day life, by providing support for them and their families based on a range of services such as residential overnight stays, outreach support, after school sessions, weekend clubs, 1 to 1 community support and bespoke packages. To provide children with disabilities a positive and stimulating short break experience is a vital part of our work. At times you may be required to support our Silverton South Hub, based in Blantyre, is to support children with disabilities. We ensure the child feels involved in their community and enjoys their childhood experience and builds their confidence whilst developing the family's resilience to deal with the day-to-day challenges of their caregiving duties. We're looking for an Administrative Officer to join our friendly teams across our Silverton services and offer valued support through a range of administrative services. You'll be first point of contact for our operational colleagues, and you'll welcome all internal and external visitors to the service, making sure everyone has a great experience. You'll be highly organised and able to focus on attention to detail and working to tight deadlines. Acting with great confidence and capability, you'll be responsible for your own tasks and take the lead in some instances. How you'll help to create brighter futures Delivering a friendly and professional service to visitors face to face, via telephone or email, ensuring enquiries are passed on or dealt with efficiently, using organisational policies, procedures and digital systems. Providing varied administrative support to colleagues and ensuring resource supplies are maintained and available to the team. Petty cash management and monthly reconciliation. Using initiative and being proactive with completing any tasks that are required to ensure the smooth day to day running of the service. Providing written, verbal and e-correspondence, in collaboration with management and operational colleagues, ensuring prompt, courteous and appropriate responses. Contributing to income and expenditure reporting, referring to budget and financial reports using Action for Children corporate systems and relevant databases. Let's talk about you Whilst it would be great if you have a Business Administration S/NVQ, we are very open to experience rather than qualifications and welcome those will relevant work experience. Experience of using PC's on a business network running MS Windows and Office, along with Email and Internet and specific business applications. The ability to work within a team environment, demonstrating tact and diplomacy with other members of staff and where necessary to direct and guide. Effective communication written and oral to a range of different personnel. To take responsibility for a project or task and deliver within agreed timescales. Attention to detail and willingness to learn new processes and demonstrate good practice to others. Experience of providing a confidential, professional service and to work flexibly to meet the demands of the role.
