SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES: Act as the Security Lead for the Company. Assure that the Companies Security business process is compliant with the relevant legislation and according to the principles in the relevant Government standards. Implement and monitor security controls for the appropriate maintenance of security. Provide day to day supervision, guidance and support involving all aspects of protective security relating to staff, information and assets. Own the site security procedures, ensuring they are adhered to and that associated risks are appropriately managed. Act as the initial point of contact for security and security accreditation matters, facilitation of visits and inspections by representatives of the Government or other contracting authorities. MAIN TASKS: Lead on all aspects of Physical Security for the business. Maintain security policies and procedures, updating with evolving business needs and ensuring compliance with HMG Security Policy Framework. Work with other departments such as HR and IT to ensure security is considered and embedded withing all appropriate procedures. Work with the Personnel Security staff to ensure effective staff and contractor vetting. Work with the IT team to ensure that the Company’s networks remain secure and compliant with legislative policies. Work with functional managers and key stakeholders across the business and respond to customer security requirements. Own and maintain a Security Aspects Register, ensuring effective onward communication and compliance. Advise on the Security requirements for new contracts Own and maintain a Security Risks Register to drive Security improvements. Advise management on the interpretation and implementation of contractual, legislative or regulatory security controls. Work with the company board representative for Security on the oversight of Security matters. Supervise the contracted security officers and work with the account manager to ensure that the Company receives an acceptable service. Oversee investigations of security incidents in a timely manner, ensuring that they are dealt with appropriately or escalated if necessary. Ensure that all Security policies are made available to and understood by the employees, updating as necessary. Ensure effective Security education covering initial induction and ongoing awareness and education and termination/exit from the company. Ensure effective auditing of security systems and processes. Undertake other support activities as required by the business as time allows. JOB REQUIREMENTS Experience Experience of working in a security role Special Skills & Qualities Written and verbal communication skills able to deliver briefings to staff and clients Good PC skills including word processing and spreadsheets. Pro-active, constantly seeking to improve.
