The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service have an excellent opportunity for a skilled People Adviser to join their People Advice and Employee Relations team as part of the wider People Directorate. The location of the role is flexible across Scotland.
This is a part time post working 26 hours per week; however, applications from individuals seeking to work on a flexible working basis would be considered. The specific working pattern can be discussed and agreed during the selection process.
Working with the support of colleagues in a busy team, you will be responsible for providing expert advice on a range of generalist and employee relations matters, including absence management, capability, discipline, and grievance issues, to name a few.
You will support and foster a positive work environment through your collaboration with stakeholders and drive engagement by delivering training on key people areas. You will also contribute to HR projects and initiatives throughout the Directorate.
This role requires someone who can manage cases with confidence and advise managers, making clear, informed decisions that align with company policies, values, and legal requirements.

Salary on appointment will normally be at the lower salary point, with progression subject to regular review - in line with the SFRS performance appraisal arrangements. A higher salary placing will be considered in exceptional circumstances subject to experience demonstrated.
This post is also subject to the provision of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exclusions and Exemptions) Scotland Order 2013. Therefore, the successful candidate will be subject to a Standard Disclosure record check through Disclosure Scotland.
