The Monitoring Technician is responsible for ongoing surveillance of patient cardiac monitors and provides RN's and/or clinicians with immediate notification of any changes in cardiac rhythms. The technician delivers telemetry to units. Minimum Education High School Graduate or Equivalent required. Successful completion of Basic EKG/Arrhythmia & Dysrhythmia Courses within 90 days of hire. Minimum Work Experience 1 year Monitor Technician experience in a hospital setting preferred CMT, or Cardiac experience in related field preferred. Required Licenses/Certifications BLS Certification through American Heart Association. National Monitor Certification (Certified Rhythm Analysis Technician (CRAT)) required within 12 months in position, from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), preferred. Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Ability to quickly make decisions to report patient condition with minimal supervision. Ability to remain focused and maintains concentration over extended period of time. Demonstrated ability to interpret cardiac rhythms and arrhythmias. Demonstrated moderate knowledge of medical terminology Ability to move or lift equipment. Demonstrated moderate knowledge of basic computer skills. Pay Range $16.12 - 23.93
