Job Title: Purchasing Assistant
Location: Blackwood
Salary: £25,000-£28,000 per annum
Hours: Full time. Monday - Friday, 37.5 hours a week, start time can be slightly flexible.
Here at The Recruitment Co, we are recruiting a Purchasing Assistant to work for a company based in Blackwood.
Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, the candidate will play an integral part of the team supporting key functions within the department including:
1. Raising purchase orders
2. Liaising with suppliers to ensure parts are delivered when required
3. Ensuring traceability and Quality Assurance of purchased parts
4. Liaising with production to update status on materials and transact on priorities
5. Liaising with Stores, Shipping, and Finance to resolve any queries
6. Communicating effectively with suppliers and internal customers
7. Supporting master data updates and some administrative duties
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a proactive and flexible approach to the buying role, have strong team values, and participate in continuous improvement activities.

Education and Experience
* Supply chain or Procurement experience
* IT literate with spreadsheet knowledge
* Experience working with an MRP/ERP and SAP system
* Experience working in a legislative environment and familiar with procedures/systems
