About the job
As a Supervisor, you will provide day-to-day operational supervision and control for all areas within the scope of collection services. You will maximise all resources ensuring excellent customer services whilst maintaining the Council’s legislative responsibilities.
This post is full time with operational hours either 5.00am-14.45pm, 6am-15:45 or 6.30am-16.15pm Tuesday to Friday.
We also have several temporary positions, with operational hours between 06:00 to 20:00, Monday through Friday. Specific working hours and days will be determined upon the job offer.
You will be contracted to work Good Friday. Where Christmas Day, Boxing Day or New Year’s Day fall on a contracted working day, subsequent catch up days, which may include weekend working, will be a mandatory requirement.
What We Are Looking For From You
The successful candidate will have experience of working within a large operational team and direct public contact with excellent customer service skills.
In addition, the successful candidate will have good organisation skills, being able to work under pressure and meet deadlines. You will need to be able to multi-task, take ownership of issues and be IT literate in most Microsoft packages.
Additional information
Class 2 Driving License is desirable for this role.
Working knowledge of waste and recycling operations is important. You will be able to quickly adapt to technologies used by the service. You will need to understand and operate in line with Council Policies and Procedures. You must maintain the reputation of the Council by adopting a professional and courteous approach.
