The Opportunity As the Project Manager (PM), you will be responsible for delivering engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction, and commissioning activities throughout the contract or work package life cycle, ensuring alignment with the overall project schedule. What you’ll be doing As a motivated and experienced project manager, you will take a leading role in delivering our projects successfully. This position is critical in ensuring projects are executed safely, on time, within budget, and in line with business and technical requirements. You will monitor project progress, track milestones, and oversee deadlines and budgets. Provide stakeholders with clear and insightful reports, keeping them informed every step of the way. Proactively anticipate, manage, and resolve issues within your area of responsibility. Identifying risks and facilitating effective resolutions will be key to ensuring the smooth progression of the project. A core responsibility will be maintaining and aligning package schedules with the overall project timeline. Any discrepancies will need to be escalated promptly to the Area Delivery Manager to ensure seamless execution. You’ll liaise with stakeholders and ensure strategies for the project or work packages are executed effectively. Managing interfaces between programmes, contracts, and areas will also be a vital part of the role, helping to maintain a high-level view of progress and identify opportunities for best practices. Additionally, you will assist the Delivery Manager in developing and implementing strategies and plans that align with the overall Programme Execution Plan (PEP). These plans will outline how the programme will be managed, organised, and delivered. Who you are We are looking for a skilled project manager with a background in engineering, construction, or a related field. While a degree or equivalent qualification and a project management certification (such as APM PPQ) are desirable. A strong demonstrated understanding of leadership principles and experience in complex projects, along with working knowledge of CDM Regulations. Have excellent numeracy, analytical, and critical reasoning skills, as well as proficiency in tools such as estimating, scheduling, programming, risk management, and Earned Value Management. Strong presentation, influencing, and facilitation skills. An understanding of nuclear quality requirements and how they are assured and controlled is highly valued. Have proven project management experience in areas such as engineering design, contract strategies, and multi-discipline EPCM projects. Experience in construction activities, procurement and management of complex contracts along with expertise in managing costs, risks, schedules, changes, and commercial claims. Demonstrate an ability and track record of engaging with multi-level stakeholders, including contractors, consultants, and advisors. Familiarity with NEC and FIDIC commercial arrangements is also required to excel in this role.
