You have a deep understanding of government welfare reform agendas, and you are IT-literate with advanced knowledge of Microsoft products. Your skills include the ability to effectively communicate complex issues, lead projects, manage staff, and ensure high performance and legislative compliance within a team setting. What the Job Involves The Revenues & Benefits Technical Control Specialist role requires you to manage and oversee the control processes related to Council Tax, Business Rates, Benefits, and Subsidy. You will be responsible for maintaining software and data accuracy, supplying critical performance and financial reports, managing billing and recovery processes, ensuring timely subsidy claims, and dealing with government returns. You’ll collaborate with the Revenues Operational & Technical Services Manager, and indirectly oversee a team, ensuring efficient operations, compliance with legislation, and maintaining partnerships. Key duties involve service planning, financial management, continuous service improvement, and handling complaints in accordance with Council policies. Additionally, you'll engage with various stakeholders including other Council officers, government departments, and external agencies to protect Council interests and ensure value for money.
