An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Pharmacy Technician to join our Clinical Trials Pharmacy Team.

This role will include taking part in late nights and weekend rotas.
Main duties of the job
As a Clinical Trials Pharmacy Technician in our team, you will have an extremely varied role - you will be involved in maintaining the supply chain of Clinical Trial medications to research nurses who deliver treatment to patients, completing drug accountability activities, closing down and archiving of completed studies, as well as facilitating meetings from sponsors. This will involve some work in the aseptic unit in addition to working in the main clinical trials department.
Aseptic services
Working in our newly refurbished aseptic suite at the Beacon Production Unit preparing parenteral clinical trials investigation medicinal products. You will also spend time supporting the production of other general chemotherapy treatments. This is a pharmacy-run production unit with specialist equipment to help prepare individual patient treatments.
Dispensary
Dispensing medication for inpatients and outpatients from the pharmacy robot including controlled drugs. Take part in the final accuracy checking rotation and support the dispensary manager to supervise the dispensary team.
Medicines Optimisation
Depending on qualifications and service need, this role may include some time to conduct medicines reconciliation, assessment of patient's own drugs, counselling patients about their medicine, discharge facilitation, and ward and dispensary-based medication supply.

* Have wide-ranging hospital pharmacy experience post-registration
* Demonstrable experience of staff appraisal and objective setting
