Job Description:
Our client is seeking to hire a highly skilled and experienced Network Engineer to manage key projects for major customers. The Network Engineer will be engaged on a contract basis, with a potential extension based on project requirements and performance. The successful candidate will work within a hybrid model, combining remote work with onsite duties in Belfast.
Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage key network infrastructure projects for major clients.
* Install, configure, and troubleshoot switch and router installations to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
* Design and implement complex network solutions, ensuring they meet the business requirements and standards.
* Perform network maintenance and upgrades including patches, hotfixes, and security configurations.
* Conduct network performance tuning and monitoring to ensure the highest level of performance and availability.
* Provide technical support and troubleshooting for network issues, escalating complex problems as needed.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate network solutions with other IT systems.
* Ensure all network components are documented and maintained according to industry best practices.
* Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to provide cutting-edge solutions.
Experience and Qualifications Required:
* Experience in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting switch and router installations in a large-scale enterprise environment.
* Experienced in Fortinet products.
* Demonstrated ability to install and troubleshoot complex network solutions, ensuring minimal downtime and high availability.
* Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) qualification is highly desirable.
* Strong understanding of network security principles and best practices.
* Proficiency with network management tools and protocols.
* Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders at all levels.
* Experience with hybrid work environments and the flexibility to adapt to changing project needs.
Desirable Skills:
* Familiarity with cloud networking solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
* Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
* Previous experience in a consultancy role, managing client relationships and expectations.
