An opportunity has arisen for a Microwave Manufacturing Inspector to join the Operations Manufacturing team at our Luton site. The Microwave Manufacturing Inspector will ensure that all of Leonardo products have a full inspection throughout the Manufacturing process and on final build. The Microwave Manufacturing Inspector will ensure that the products reach the required quality standards and that there are no defects.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out inspection procedures on all products to ensure build is in accordance with drawings and documentation
* Ensure any defects found during inspection are documented effectively in SAP
* Microscope use for inspection of PCB’s, Bonds and component placement
* Assist in the rectification or investigation of any defects on products when requested
* Work in accordance to ESD and FOD disciplines
* Identify continuous improvements in process and yield
* Maintain a clean working area in compliance with ISO class 7 and ISO class 8 clean room standards
* Liaising with Manufacturing and Planning to ensure products meet the required deadlines
* Ensure build processes and checks are being followed
* Maintain a clean working area and comply with Health and Safety Regulations
* Keep familiar and remain compliant with clean room and ESD disciplines
* Ensure compliance to regulatory and legal requirements
* Identify improvements in process and yield
Skills and Qualifications
* Inspection of Wire bonding and die bonding
* Experience in a range of hybrid microelectronic assembly including device attachment methods and interconnection techniques
* Ability to Inspect both repeat production and varied one-off types of work
* Attention to detail and pride in workmanship
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
* Ability to carry out Inspection of Microwave work to MIL-STD 883H and BS9450
* Certified to IPC610 and ability to apply requirements within the standards objectively and consistently
* Proven track record
* Should be an effective communicator at all levels as you will be expected to liaise with Industrial Engineering, Production Planning & Engineering
* Previous experience of military and aerospace products
* Certification to IPC620, J-Std-001, IPC7711/21
