Retail Sales Assistant – Tadpole Garden Village
We are looking for a retail sales assistant to join our Tadpole Garden shop. Do you have a keen eye for spotting a retail trend? Would you like to be part of a friendly and supportive team? If so, we would love to hear from you.
At Prospect Hospice, we provide vital end-of-life care to patients living with a life-limiting illness. We also support their families and loved ones through their difficult journeys. Our shops are at the heart of the charity and our community, raising vital funds and increasing public awareness of the incredible work we do.
Hours: 7.5 hours per week (1 day per weekend, on a flexible basis to be agreed. This may include working on a Bank Holiday)
What is the role?
The sales assistant will take an active role in generating sales in the shop, using your first-class customer service skills. You will be an ambassador for Prospect Hospice, our aims and objectives, and provide an outstanding customer experience for the local community. This is a great role to develop a wide range of skills to aid your future career.
You will receive full training and will be supported by experienced, knowledgeable, and friendly managers and team members. Key to the sales assistant role is that you enjoy working with volunteers, are a team player, and have knowledge of fashion trends and are commercially aware.
Previous retail experience would be useful but not essential. If you have a passion for second-hand, recycling, upcycling, and enjoy being in a role that builds strong relationships, then we would love to hear from you!
In return, you will be joining a great team working in a supportive and collaborative environment for one of Swindon’s best-loved charities. Have a look at the job description and person specification and apply today to be part of something amazing.
Access to transportation: You may be required to work additional hours/days and at locations other than our town centre shop, as business needs require.
As the post-holder is required to be a key-holder, applicants must be over the age of 18.
We offer a great range of benefits, including:
1. 27 days holiday FTE plus bank holidays (rising with length of service)
2. Generous contributory pension scheme and life assurance
3. Access to discounts with local retailers, gyms, and service providers including Blue Light Discount Card
4. Employee Assistance Programme
5. Supportive induction, training, and development

You must tell us about any unspent conviction, cautions, reprimands, or warnings under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975.
