Position The position of 1st Line IT Support Engineer will be welcomed into a positive team environment, based from our head office in Chippenham. You will be an IT Support Engineer with 1-2 years of service desk experience or be looking to progress from an entry level IT background, with a methodical approach to problem-solving who has an enthusiastic “can do” attitude. Main Duties Ensuring that all communications to the Service Desk, phone calls, and emails are answered promptly and in a professional and courteous manner Responding to requests for support by identifying, logging and categorising incidents Resolve issues at first contact using standard operating procedures and knowledge base Troubleshooting and resolving basic technical issues Ensuring customers are provided with regular updates, and progression is made in line with Service Level Targets Ensuring that all actions and diagnostics performed are recorded accurately in the Service Management Tool Building, installation and configuration of computer hardware and software Essential Skills & Experience Exceptional customer service skills and telephone manner Some experience of working on a service desk Experience working with 3 rd party software/solution providers Desktop support experience Familiarity with laptop and desktop builds Active Directory Administration (passwords, users, groups, permissions) Office 365 Administration (passwords, users, groups, permissions) Laptop/PC diagnostics, upgrades and repair Qualifications No formal qualifications are required but it is important that you have some relevant technical skills and/or experience. You have a a willingness to learn from others while striving to benefit and add value for our customers. You will be keen to learn and progress. Notes 37.5 hours a week Mon-Fri. Due to the nature of the job some occasional work at weekends and outside of normal hours may be required. Travel to customer sites may be required so the ability to travel as and when required needs to be considered. This role requires a DBS and BPSS security checks.
