Job Summary
A vacancy has arisen, providing the opportunity to join our dedicated CT Colonography (CTC) team. We are looking for an enthusiastic Radiographer with considerable experience in performing CTC, who is an organised and focused individual, possessing excellent communication skills and can lead the team in the absence of the Clinical Lead CTC Radiographer.
Main Duties of the Job
1. To work as part of a cross Trust multi-disciplinary team consisting of radiologists, nurses, medical secretaries and administration staff offering a high-quality diagnostic and screening CTC service to patients.
2. To work with and deputise for the Clinical Lead Radiographer to support the operational delivery of the daily CTC service.
3. To undertake, unaided, all aspects of CTC imaging, to perform initial assessment of the acquired images, identify significant pathology and make appropriate patient management decisions.
4. Direct communication with patients, face to face and via telephone to explain procedures, answer queries which can be extremely sensitive.
5. To ensure safe operation of CTC equipment and that the correct CTC scanning protocols and SOPS have been followed.
6. To safely prepare and supply the CTC Bowel preparation as per the Trust PGD.
7. To undertake the vetting of CTC requests.
8. To contribute to the provision of CTC training as part of the St Marks National CT Colonography Academy (NCTCA) Centre of Excellence and support CTC service development across the Trust.
9. To ensure all images are available on PACS and assigned to the correct worklist.
10. To undertake daily database maintenance to support research and audit.
11. To develop interpretation skills to provide a formal written radiology report of colonic findings.
12. There may be a requirement to work flexibly including evenings and weekends.
13. There is no on-call commitment.

Person Specification
Education and Qualifications
* BSc Radiography or equivalent qualification.
* Current HCPC Registration- Diagnostic Radiographer.
* Completed NCTCA Module A or equivalent CTC qualification.
* CPD portfolio.
* Fully CT trained, to perform all types of CT examinations.
Knowledge and Experience
* Significant CTC Experience (minimum 100 CTC performed unsupervised).
* Excellent IT skills.
* Demonstrates ability to work well within a team structure.
* Teaching experience i.e attended NCTCA Train the Trainers course.
Skills, Abilities and Attributes
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Ability to use own initiative.
* Ability to work under pressure.
* Ability to lead others.
* Willingness to learn and develop.
* Ability to empathise with the patient's needs.
* Qualified to perform intravenous cannulations and administer drugs under a Patient Group Directive (PGD).
