The role: An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and highly motivated individual to teach within our Government and Politics team at Gower College Swansea. This role is a bank post and involves delivery of the WJEC A level Government and Politics curriculum. Politics is a very popular course at Gower College Swansea so this is your opportunity to join a thriving department with a strong and supportive approach to teaching and learning. £17.53 - £34.51 per hour (dependent on qualifications and experience) You will have no fixed working hours, and will work on an ad hoc basis, providing sickness cover or temporary cover You will be paid a month in arrears e.g. any hours that you work in January, will be paid in February, and so forth. Gorseinon Campus, Swansea Key Responsibilities: To work with the team to deliver A level Government and Politics ensuring excellence in teaching, learning and assessment across both AS and A2 courses. To plan, prepare and teach A Level Government and Politics ensuring schemes of work and assessments are appropriate to the exam board specification. To ensure teaching and learning strategies and teaching materials are planned to meet the varied needs of learners. To work with the Curriculum Leader and Learning Area Manager to set targets and monitor performance in recruitment, attendance, retention, attainment and successful completion. To keep up to date with curriculum developments, subject knowledge and innovations in teaching and learning. About you: Possess a relevant degree and have a teaching qualification or be prepared to work towards one. Are able to demonstrate a passion for the subject. A very confident communicator and committed individual who can engage and inspire learners of all abilities. Excellent organisational skills and a team player. The ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of learners.
