Description Job Description Are you interested in working in a fast-paced environment to support best use of public funds? You will be working in the NHSScotland Finance Branch, supporting a number of the senior members of the team to manage the NHS Boards’ financial performance and correspondence. There will be a degree of flexibility in the advertised role, in terms of objectives, given the fluidity and changing priorities of the team to meet needs of Scottish Government and NHS Boards. Responsibilities Supporting and deputising as lead on the review of financial and performance information provided by NHS Boards, to support: financial and performance monitoring, identification of inconsistencies in the information presented, financial and policy decision making and tracking the delivery against key priorities. Driving the automation of processes and supporting the efficient working practised to maximise impact of the team and streamlining engagement with various stakeholders. Supporting areas of financial and operational planning including learning to conducting analysis of financial data and metrics from other policy areas such as workforce and performance. Provide secretarial support in relation to key reviews of NHS Boards. Manage, and lead as appropriate, the drafting of regular briefing requests and advice to Senior Officials in tandem with colleagues across the division B2. Produce quality contributions and responses to MiCases, FOIs, PQs, and FMQs within required timescales, and in line with the teams agreed quality assurance process. Responsibilities Success Profile Success profiles are specific to each job and they include the mix of skills, experience and behaviours candidates will be assessed on. Experience: Experience in monitoring financial performance and budgets is required, and an understanding of the Budget principles is desirable but not essential. Whilst it may be helpful for the post holder to be working towards CBA or CIMA (accountancy) qualification, this is not essential to apply for this role. However, successful candidate will be expected to work towards professional qualification when in post.
