Job purpose The Business Consultant contributes to the organization by (1) working closely with the US-based sales team to support European/UK distributors and end users; (2) meeting, virtually and physically with distributors and customers for product trainings and relationship building; (3) representing the company and its products at symposia, conferences and tradeshows; and (4) coordinating conference planning and logistics for the European/UK Business Development team. The position requires strong attention to detail, on-time follow-up and follow-through with customer and opportunity management. Duties and responsibilities Business Consultant duties include but are not limited to: Work closely with colleagues and management to develop and implement strategies based on market conditions and company objectives. Work with existing distributors and develop a market plan to add more as appropriate to support sales expansion in the region. Responsibilities include being the primary contact for European distributors, product training, monthly/quarterly reviews, strategy development/execution and marketing support with the distributors. Work with colleagues to ensure consistent messaging, and to ensure distributors are kept informed of changes in a timely manner. Co-host online trainings Manage the conference events pipeline for approximately 40-50 events annually in Europe, the UK, and Africa. This includes communicating with event organizers for sponsorship/exhibitor opportunities, ensuring all assets are available for the conference, and deadlines are met for payment, attendee registration and marketing collateral, etc. Represent the company at trade association meetings to promote products, build relationships and conduct training workshops Identify business leads with existing and potential customers through continuous interaction across the environmental community. Through active probing and listening, conduct discovery sessions with qualified leads to identify client needs and determine the appropriate product solution(s). Build and maintain good relationships with customers through regular phone contact, e-mails or personal contacts to generate revenue and establish new accounts. In addition to the above, other projects may be assigned. As the position requires regular travel within Europe, we are looking for someone living in Europe or the UK. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other IT tools, especially Word and Excel, Understanding/experience of going to conferences, tradeshows etc An understanding of business development, sales and marketing, and ideally some relevant business experience Basic understanding about Wildlife Acoustics products (full training given) Awareness of what resellers may need for their own marketing and communication purposes Appreciation of the strategic importance to the business of relationships with organizations and individuals Education Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferably in the animal sciences or environmental management. Working conditions Work is generally performed with a home office environment. The successful candidate will be expected to work on a self-employed consultancy basis. They will need to maintain adequate time-keeping and expenses records, to be able to invoice Wildlife Acoustics on a monthly basis.
