The role:
The Scrum Master is a servant leader to the Scrum Team, coaching the team to work efficiently in line with the Scrum framework as they deliver future product enhancements. The Scrum Master will operate across multiple Scrum Teams.
Outcomes of the role:
1. Responsible for coordinating the Scrum Team(s), ensuring they follow Agile and Scrum Frameworks in delivering the ongoing enhancements to the Product.
2. Ensuring that goals, scope, and product objectives are understood by everyone on the Scrum Team(s).
3. Working with the Senior Product Owner/Product Owner and Delivery Lead to ensure that the development team has the appropriate resources available to enable the best chance of successfully delivering the desired outcomes.
4. Supporting the Senior Product Owner/Product Owner and Delivery Lead with the maintenance and refinement of the product backlog to ensure it maximises value.
5. Be the day-to-day point of contact for the Rathbones development team, as well as the Scrum Master/Development team of our key strategic partners.
6. Coaching the development team in self-organisation.
7. Resolving issues and initiating corrective action as appropriate.
8. Working with the Senior Product Owner/Product Owner and Delivery Lead to plan and coordinate Agile ceremonies, including Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective.
9. Responsible for monitoring, investigating, and escalating (where appropriate) any risks and issues raised by the development team and – in conjunction with the risk owner - initiating corrective action as appropriate.
10. Responsible for producing reporting on the status of the development team’s Scrum delivery, alerting the Delivery Lead and Product Owner of any risks that have the potential to affect the Scrum goal.
11. Undertake any other task pertinent to the role as requested by the Product Owner or Delivery Lead.
Knowledge and Experience required:
1. Deep understanding of the Scrum Framework and its practical application.
2. Proven ability to organise and facilitate Agile ceremonies.
3. Proven ability to lead and coach individuals in self-organisation and planning.
4. Highly experienced using project management and virtual collaboration tools such as Jira and Miro, with the ability to effectively coach others in the use of these technologies.
5. The ability to engage effectively with people from all areas and levels of the business.
6. The ability to engage effectively with third parties at all levels.
7. Preferably have some experience working in the Wealth Management/Private Banking sector or other financial services sectors.
8. Certified Scrum Master with demonstrable experience delivering major transformation programmes/working in an agile product environment.
