The Role:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Second in Department – Teacher of English to support the Head of English in a leading a dynamic and successful department. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and ambitious English teacher to take the next step in their career, contributing to curriculum development, teaching and learning strategies, and staff mentoring.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist the Head of English in leading and managing the department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
* Plan and deliver engaging, challenging English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
* Contribute to curriculum design and development, ensuring an enriching and inclusive syllabus.
* Support and mentor colleagues, sharing best practices and promoting continuous professional development.
* Monitor student progress, using data to inform interventions and raise attainment.
* Play an active role in extra-curricular activities and literacy initiatives within the school.
