Job Advert Location Description
Priory Hospital East Midlands are looking for a registered mental health nurse (RMN) to work as an effective member of the Multi-Disciplinary team. Promoting the interests of the service users and carers to ensure that the prescribed nursing care is effectively implemented. The right candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe and caring environment.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. Providing a high standard of person-centred care to individuals suffering from mental illness and personality disorder.
2. Contributing to the planning, implementing and reviewing of patient care plans taking into account patient choice and wishes and acting as a named nurse.
3. Observing and engaging with patients to assess their needs and progress - responding to any changes in presentation.
4. Attending regular clinical and non-clinical meetings as requested.
5. Prioritising nursing duties, delegating where required.
6. Working as nurse in charge to co-ordinate the shift, ensuring as far as reasonably practical a safe environment.
7. Developing and maintaining a good professional relationship with patients, colleagues and visitors responding promptly and courteously to requests, enquiries and suggestions.
8. Adhering to Medicines Management policies at all times.
9. Ensuring the requirements of the Mental Health, Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Standards are met.
Minimum Requirements
1. Qualified Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN), with 6-12 months post registration experience with active NMC Registration and completed preceptorship programme.
2. Knowledge of NMC guidelines, requests and professional practices.
3. Demonstrates a positive attitude and commitment to change, improvement and quality.
4. Excellent communication and team working skills with a flexible approach and a commitment to patient-centred care.
Job Advert Role Description
Priory Hospital East Midlands provide acute and psychiatric intensive care services to those in need - Comprising of 2 Acute wards both with 9 beds and a Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) with 10 beds. We are dedicated to providing innovative, high quality care, which will enable patients’ recovery and re-engagement with the community. We provide services for local NHS patients and out of area patients from the NHS. Our wards offer assessment and treatment to females with a broad range of mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, stress, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), schizophrenia and personality disorders.
We are a friendly welcoming team who all have the same focus and goal which is to provide a caring service and support with providing the best possible outcome for the individuals in our care.
We operate a 24 hour, 7 days a week service and our nursing team work shifts including days, nights, weekends and bank holidays.
Priory Hospital East Midlands currently holds a "GOOD" rating from the CQC.
