Children's Services Valuing Care Lead Pay NJC - PO5 £40,476 - £43,693 per annum Full time - 37 hours (Permanent) An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Valuing Care Lead within Children’s Services. The post is full time, based at Darby House, Lawn Central, Telford with some home working. Main Responsibilities: This is a unique opportunity for an experienced professional to make a meaningful contribution to the lives of children and young people in Telford and Wrekin. You will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of this new programme that aims to transform the way that we support children in our care. The Valuing Care programme includes the delivery of the Valuing Care tool and testing interventions. Valuing Care is an approach that codifies and scores the needs of children entering care and at regular review points. This will allow us to build a strong evidence-based narrative of the needs of our children, how these change over time, and help us to better meet the needs of children, improve placement matches and reunify children where possible. Working in partnership with teams within TWC, and partner organisations and IMPOWER, you will be at the forefront of delivering and embedding a new approach to care that puts the needs and aspirations of young people at its heart. Working directly with our social work teams to test and embed approaches, provide training, moderate and support the delivery of interventions, providing guidance, support and motivation to maximise the impact. We are looking for someone who is: • Passionate about improving experiences for children in care • Able to manage complex projects and implement project plans, ensuring that they are aligned with the project's objectives and timelines • Excellent IT skills with the ability to use systems to track and analyse data • Committed to working with a strengths-based approach, whist being creative and solution-focused • Strong in their leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to deliver outcomes • Excellent at communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with partners and stakeholders • Ability to capture key learning and insights and pull together analysis of data and identify trends and make recommendations One of the key tasks will be coordination of our weekly Valuing Care Panel: Managing the scheduling, delivery and tracking of the Valuing Care Forum; Scheduling the children that should come to the VCare forum. Ensuring SWs have the tools and materials to come prepared. Reviewing material to ensure high quality and offering practical support & guidance Attending and offering creative suggestions and fair challenges where required. Following up with SWs and TMs regarding agreed actions and tracking impact. Ensuring management oversight is added to children’s case files.
