As the Material Controller, you'll be responsible for ensuring the effective planning of manufactured and/or purchased materials to maximise the effective use of resources and minimise any disruption caused by constraints.

Main Duties and Tasks:
1. Ensure component requirements are correct and communicated to suppliers in a timely, professional manner.
2. Understand and implement any MRP generated messages and amend supplier schedules accordingly.
3. Manage open order books to ensure appropriate order coverage and optimal inventory levels.
4. Update and maintain all relevant system requirements pertaining to the role.
5. Ensure inventory levels of components under individual control are in alignment with departmental objectives.
6. Ensure adequate information interchange and interaction with other Supply Chain and Production areas.
7. Ensure all activities undertaken are in line with current policies and procedures.
8. Ensure external logistics costs are optimised using normal transportation methods.
9. Highlight future supply risks.
10. Provide monthly forecast of expected deliveries.
11. Proactively resolve invoice queries.
12. Continually challenge the traditional planning methods and seek new simple and effective procedures.
13. Identify and remedy excess inventory.
Ideal Skills for the Position:
1. Experience in a similar planning position.
2. Sound working knowledge of ERP systems, preferably Infor.
