We are urgently seeking a motivated and skilled CHP Engineer to join our client’s team supporting the Yorkshire area. This will be a vital member of their organisation where you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of their CHP systems.
Our client is heavily involved in gas and diesel CHP designing, manufacturing and servicing and is going through a period of fantastic growth, with on track turnover this year to be £15 million.
This is a field-based role covering the Yorkshire area, mainly Worksop, Sheffield, Leeds, Chesterfield and the surrounding area.
Successful applicants must live within a 1-hour commute to these locations.
What will the Field Service CHP Engineer be doing?
1. Conduct routine services, inspections, and preventive maintenance activities on CHP systems to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
2. Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical and mechanical issues in CHP equipment, including engines, generators, pumps, heat exchangers, and associated control systems.
3. Perform engine overhauls and address both mechanical and electrical issues on all makes of CHPs/Generators, with a specific focus on gas applications.
4. Collaborate with other team members to develop and implement effective maintenance strategies and procedures.
5. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and inventory levels.
6. Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to ensure a secure working environment for oneself and others.
7. Stay updated with the latest advancements and best practices in CHP technology.
8. On call 1 in every 2 (will become 1 in every 6).
What we need from the Field Service CHP Engineer?
1. HND or equivalent; additional technical training or certification in electro-mechanical maintenance.
2. Proven experience in conducting maintenance and repairs on CHP systems, with a focus on gas applications.
3. Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose and address electrical and mechanical issues effectively.
4. Experience in engine overhauls and familiarity with various makes of CHPs/Generators.
5. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
6. Motivated team player with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
7. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
8. Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
