We are a Multi Academy Trust comprising of six secondary schools and one primary school with over 750 employees and over 5,500 students, based in Dudley, West Midlands. We are seeking a Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team at Rufford Primary School. This is a part-time position, initially in our Rufford SEND Base, with the flexibility and willingness to work across the school. Our SEND Base has 12 places, with the main area of need being communication, interaction, and autism spectrum disorder (ASD). All children in our SEND Base have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) and are placed by the local authority SEND team. Key Responsibilities:
* Work with children who have complex special educational needs, building strong relationships with them, their parents, and carers.
* Support vulnerable children and work effectively with colleagues to ensure their needs are met.
* Contribute to the delivery of a high-quality, engaging curriculum that inspires and challenges all children.
* Assist in the implementation of behaviour management strategies to create a safe and stimulating learning environment.
* Participate in the delivery of individual and group interventions to support children's learning and social-emotional development.
* Contribute to the wider life and ethos of the school, supporting the school's vision and values.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
* Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent
* Experience working with children with complex needs and/or SEND
* Knowledge and understanding of strategies to support children with SEND
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
Desirable Qualities:
* Passion for working with children and a commitment to their well-being and progress
* Strong organisational and time management skills
* Willingness to participate in continuous professional development
