Job Description Senior Area Transport Manager Role Please contact Conor O ’ Hagan for more details About the Role A leading Global food manufacturer with sites across Northern Ireland are seeking an experienced senior Transport Manager to join their team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the efficient and effective use of transport assets and maintaining key relationships with third-party providers. The successful candidate will report directly to the Head of Logistics and mange a team of Site Transport managers across the group. You will play a critical role in making the company a “ Best in Class ” operation. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily operations, ensuring optimal use of company and subcontracted transport assets to meet service and cost performance targets. Manage and develop relationships with third-party transport providers. Ensure compliance for the fleet across GB & NI, including the NI van sales fleet. Logistics Oversight: Plan and direct transportation, warehousing, and distribution of goods. Monitor the quality, quantity, cost, and efficiency of goods movement and storage. Manage the transport budget effectively. Perform any other duties as required. Key Deliverables: Achieve logistics GAP delivery and synergies. Progress towards 2030 sustainability targets. Meet annual environmental targets. Ensure safety is a core condition. Maintain high levels of staff retention and engagement. The Person: It is anticipated that the successful candidate will come from a similar background and will be looking for the next challenge in their career. Self-starting and motivated, applicants will also need to satisfy the following: Minimum of five years in supply chain management, logistics, or related fields. Excellent communication and leadership skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficient in logistics software and systems. High attention to detail and accuracy. Proven experience in managing and motivating teams. Understanding of DVSA regulations and/or equivalent International Road Transport Operations CPC. Legislation: Knowledge of legislation around transporting live animals and agricultural products. Current Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) in UK Road Transport Operations is essential. Degree-level education and/or appropriate logistics/transport qualifications are desirable.
