We are looking for enthusiastic and innovative Design Technology Teachers to join teams at schools around Hertfordshire. The successful candidate will inspire students to develop creativity, problem-solving skills, and technical knowledge across various aspects of Design and Technology. This role is for February 2025.
Duties as a Design Technology Teacher:
* Plan and deliver engaging Design Technology lessons across [KS3/KS4/KS5].
* Teach specialisms such as Product Design, Resistant Materials, Graphics, Textiles, or Engineering.
* Encourage students to apply design thinking and practical skills to real-world challenges.
* Support students with coursework, projects, and exam preparation.
* Ensure a safe and well-equipped workshop environment, following health and safety regulations.
* Use modern technology, including CAD software, 3D printing, and laser cutting.
* Organise and participate in STEM clubs, competitions, and extracurricular activities.
Minimum Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
* A degree in Design Technology, Engineering, Product Design, or a related field.
* Experience teaching Design Technology at [Secondary/Post-16] level.
* Strong knowledge of materials, tools, and digital design software.
* Excellent practical skills and classroom management as a Design Technology Teacher.
* Passion for creativity, innovation, and hands-on learning.
* A DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
