Role
Respond to breakdowns and maintain site wide electrical systems at company in order to minimise engineering downtime. Provide continuous improvement support.
Main Activities and Responsibilities
* Conduct all electrical engineering activities safely and professionally, ensuring compliance with current legislation and company policies and procedures at all times.
* Conduct planned maintenance, breakdown and statutory checks as required.
* Liaise with Engineering Coordinator, to prioritise workload and ensure adequate resources are made available to resolve issues.
* Working as part of engineering team on site, strive to keep engineering downtime to a minimum, prioritising tasks to meet business needs.
* Ensure reports are completed at the end of each shift, logging completed work and flagging issues for incoming shift.
* Be prepared to work additional hours to cover emergency situations.
* Improve machine availability.
* Control contractors; induction and permits, ensuring safe and compliant work on site.
* Work within the company health, safety and environmental policies ensuring permit to work and isolation systems are employed where practicable whilst working on electrical systems.
* Ensure that all electrical equipment can be safely isolated in accordance with legislation and good engineering practice.
* Be prepared to operate on a call out system to attend electrical faults outside of normal working hours.
* Participate in a range of business related projects and processes both engineering and non-engineering.

Responsive under pressure, the role holder must be able to think on his/her feet and use his/her professional judgment and technical problem solving capabilities in attending breakdowns and emergencies. The role holder must be a good team player, able to work collaboratively with others and develop good working relationships across the business. The role holder also needs to be able to work independently and flexibly, taking responsibility for his/her own workload.

Qualifications
* ONC Electrical Engineering or equivalent
* City & Guilds class level one
* IEE Regulations
Work pattern
* 3 Rotating shift which may include weekend working
* Week 1 Mon & Tues Nights Wed off Thu & Fri Days
* Week 2 Mon to Thu Days, Fri off
* Week 3 Mon & Tue off, Wed to Fri nights.
All the shifts are 12 hours, days 06.00 -18.00 and nights 18.00 – 06.00.
