Main duties of the job
* Manage a group of patients under the supervision of a trained nurse, providing evidence-based care. Work with supervision and as part of a team in the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of care to babies in the neonatal setting.
* Manage time and workload effectively to promote smooth running of the service.
* Responsible for adherence to Trust policies and procedures.
* Develop and maintain clinical skills under supervision according to individual objectives and service needs e.g. Special care of the Neonate nasogastric tube feeding, feeding management, oxygen therapy etc in accordance with unit guidelines.
* Report any Safeguarding concerns to the senior nurse immediately.
* Support mothers with breast, artificial and nasogastric tube feeding, in line with Trust Policies and BFI recommendations.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* NNEB or NVQ3 in childcare
Experience and Knowledge
* Knowledge of child development
* Hospital based experience
* Safeguarding training and awareness
Skills and Ability
* Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
* Able to work autonomously
* Good organisation and time management skills
Other Specific Requirements
* Flexible shifts including nights and weekends
* Enhanced DBS clearance
* Meet occupational health requirements
* Factual and accurate documentation
