We have three positions available within the branch 2x Senior Deployable Operational Analysts and a Wargaming Senior Analyst. SENIOR DEPLOYABLE OPERATIONAL ANALYST As a Senior Deployable Operational Analyst, you will be a member of the ORBs Operational Analysis Team. This is an exciting role which provides unique opportunities for you to work embedded within British Army formation Headquarters. You will deploy on exercises/operations to lead the provision of operational analysis to support planning and decision-making with formations such as 1st (UK) Division, 3rd (UK) Division and HQ Allied Rapid Reaction Corps. Your time will be split between desk based (approximately 65% of the time) and deployed on exercise/operations with the Army (approximately 35% of the time). The role is often embedded in field conditions, which can be austere at times, so a robust character and good sense of humour are essential. You will be required to meet and maintain pre-deployment training standards, which includes a requirement to pass a medical and maintain a basic level of fitness. You will need you to have or attain Developed Vetting (DV) clearance. There will be a regular requirement to travel, including overseas, to attend training exercises and courses, therefore there is an expectation that you will be able to facilitate this. We Will Need You To Deploy on exercises and operations (including planning events), for short periods, to provide OA advice and support to Field Army decision making. This is likely to necessitate working in shift work for extend-ed working days, operating in field conditions and working collaboratively with other analysts from both industry and across government. Work as the lead of a group of analysts or as part of a team in support of a lead analyst. You will be able to use the full range of Land deployable OA tools and methods. Be able to capture requirements for analytical support and provide timely responses using tools and other bespoke analytical methods. Be able to present back results in a concise, understandable way to a military stakeholder in both written and verbal briefs. Establish and maintain suitable pre-deployment qualifications, to be ready to deploy on operations. Produce Post Exercise Reports (PXR). Represent HQ LWC when liaising with the Field Army and working in support of OA tasks, delivered by external suppliers. This may include sharing Land OA knowledge or supervising outputs. Be able to operate common analytical methods, to cover areas such as statistical modelling, data mining, analytics, and visualisation. Contribute to the development and sharing of OA best practice, this may include producing guidance documentation, training, information, and communications. Provide OA consultation and technical expertise to inform studies, experimentation and wargaming activity in support of Op Research programme objectives. This also includes activity to develop the Land OA capability. WARGAMING SENIOR ANALYST As the Wargaming Senior Analyst will be responsible for development, management and delivery of wargaming within the Field Army for the purposes of training and Warfare Development. This is an exciting role which provides unique opportunities for you to work embedded within British Army units and formation Headquarters. You will deliver wargames to military training audiences from Corp to Unit level at military sites throughout the UK, with occasional support to overseas exercises. Your time will be split between desk based and deployed on training exercises or activities with the Army. You may be required to deploy on operational theatres in support of any required operational surge requirement of Operational Analysis. You will be required to meet and maintain pre-deployment training standards, which includes a requirement to pass a medical and maintain a basic level of fitness. You will need to have or attain Developed Vetting (DV) clearance. There will be a regular requirement to travel, including overseas, to attend training exercises and courses, therefore there is an expectation that you will be able to facilitate this. You Will Be Responsible For Coordination and management all aspects of wargame support, design, analysis and execution using standard project management methodology. Leads as wargame facilitator for wargames, including coordination with game customers, briefing leadership on each wargame and overseeing the execution of each wargame on location and as hosted by Fd Army units. Assists in identifying customer (Field Army formations and units) requirements and designing wargames. Contribute to the development and sharing of wargaming best practice, this may include producing guidance documentation, training, information, and communications. Supports Director Land Warfare with the Army Wargaming Community of Interest, including coordina-tion of events, wargaming training, education and professional development. The management of the LWC Wargaming Facility and the Op Research wargame library, this includes maintaining an awareness of Commercial-Of-The-Shelf wargames and their applicability in a military environment. Supports Operational Analysis Team with Operations Planning, Exercise Planning and Mission Rehearsal processes through the provision of wargaming and simulation support. Exploits emerging data analytic capabilities to improve wargaming and simulation capabilities and im-prove fidelity for wargame customers. Contributes to the development of Army wargaming doctrine and policy, and of technical and non-technical tools to support wargaming. Provide wargaming consultation and technical expertise to inform studies, experimentation and war-gaming activity in support of Op Research programme objectives. Engage with other Defence Wargaming organisations to ensure continuity of approach and maintaining an understanding of their service provision, facilities and delivery mechanisms.
