To further strengthen our Rail & Highways project teams, we are looking for Principal Drainage Engineers to join us. You'll be working across a portfolio of rail or highways projects across the UK, as well as supporting projects across different sectors and globally.
Your key responsibilities will be:
1. Managing and coordinating delivery of projects to time and budget, ensuring high technical quality and compliance throughout the project lifecycle, including site supervision where required.
2. Producing drainage designs, assessments, or checking work, including calculations, reports, specifications, and other deliverables.
3. Ensuring designs comply with current standards, codes of practice, and best practices.
4. Supervising and mentoring engineers and technicians, working with line managers to maximize training and development.
5. Developing and maintaining client relationships, identifying potential business opportunities.
6. Assisting with bids and tenders, supporting business development efforts.

Additionally, you will have:
* Chartered Engineer (C.Eng) status with experience in multi-disciplinary railway or highway drainage projects.
* Experience in CRE(Drainage) roles under the Engineering Management for Project standard (NR/L2/RSE/) is advantageous for rail projects.
* Leadership experience in multi-disciplinary projects within rail, highways, or water sectors.
* Strong analytical skills and understanding of engineering fundamentals, standards, and drainage design software.
* Experience with drainage surveys, catchment analysis, hydraulic design, pumping stations, and legislative requirements.
* Effective communication skills with teams, clients, and contractors.
* Leadership skills to support and develop less experienced engineers.
* Understanding of CDM Regulations, risk assessments, and current safety standards and legislation.
