The role: Engineering Manager

Job Description:
Working for a leading global provider of integrated facilities and corporate real estate management, we are recruiting an Engineering Manager to join the team located in Exeter. The successful candidate will be the site point of contact responsible for all technical service delivery on behalf of the company. They will be responsible for the effective execution of all maintenance work (planned, corrective, and reactive) and associated control processes. They will be responsible for the efficient and effective planning and scheduling of all resources to conduct all maintenance activities in accordance with current legislation, industry guidance, and best practice. They will be responsible for delivering a best-in-class service, maximizing resource productivity and minimizing customer business interruptions.
Role Summary:
1. Significant administrative workload, ensuring completion of reactive and planned works to ensure all customer and Industry lead KPI’s are met/exceeded.
2. Time Management. To ensure all aspects of role are managed and delivered against SLA’s.
3. Management of the mobile team, and supporting sub-contractors, to deliver against set targets and SLA performance measures.
4. Ensure site technical services are delivered in compliance with legislative, client, and company health, safety, and environmental programmes.
5. Use of Microsoft and company software systems in daily delivery of role.
6. Act as the Technical Services point of contact for all in/out of scope technical activities and provide technical support across a wide spectrum of industrial technical services, to the team and client.
7. Maximizing self-delivery of works through the mobile team and sub-contractors, driving first time fix for all reactive jobs.
8. Manage specialist subcontractors where required, ensuring work is carried out in compliance with legislative, client, and health, safety, and environmental programmes.
9. Be the Maintenance Excellence Champion for the site, driving continuous improvement in technical service delivery.
10. In conjunction with the Service Manager, manage allocated budgets in line with service lines, against the contract model.
11. Provide solutions and associated quotations for extra works and small project works.
12. Identify potential business opportunities for increased scope and additional services.
13. Manage the technical service delivery on site, auditing to ensure compliance with the company’s standards.
Experience Required:
1. Exceptional organizational skills to manage all work streams.
2. Excellent time management.
3. Good computer skills – Use of Microsoft packages and quick learning of the software systems.
4. Knowledge of EHS requirements.
5. Excellent analytical skills.
6. Management and motivation of company and subcontracted teams in execution of work.
7. Ability to manage multiple priorities or projects simultaneously and keep them progressing to completion.
8. Engineering background and competency to accurately estimate labor hours, material requirements, and trade/skills needed to complete a job.
9. Good written and verbal communication skills and have demonstrated the ability to be approachable and tactful.
10. Demonstrated ability to engage, communicate, and provide clear, concise, and accurate instructions to Engineers and Clients Team.
11. Knowledge and understanding of the maintenance processes and proper use of the work order system, planning and scheduling, and storeroom processes.
12. Must be capable of providing familiarization training and demonstrating any specific job requirements.
