Overview
Under the supervision and direction of a Registered Nurse, the nursing assistant performs various duties in the care and treatment of patients in accordance with established methods and procedures of the Beebe Healthcare.
Responsibilities
* Continuously observes patients' behavior, mental status and activities, notifies RN of any changes or unusual occurrences.
* Consistently and independently maintains a safe, clean environment for patients.
* Consistently adheres to established BBMC Close Observation Patient and Suicidal Patient Protocols.
* Consistently and independently documents patient observation data on the Close Observation Supervision Record.
* Reports maintenance needs.
* Utilizes universal precautions.
* Gives accurate report to oncoming shift.
* Provides patient with explanations as necessary but does not counsel or provide opinions.
* Escorts patients when leaving the unit for activities and scheduled tests.
* Demonstrates the ability to set limits for patients and other de-escalation techniques.
Qualifications
* Ability to communicate effectively with patients using a microphone and headset.
* Basic Computer skills.

* Clear Communication Skills Both Written And Verbal.
* Able To Keep Confidential Information Regarding Patients, Team Members.
* Able To Withstand Crisis Situations.
* Has Skills To Provide Customer Service To Patients, Team Members And Visitors.
* Knowledge And Experience With Electronic Health Records.
Credentials
* BLS – Basic Life Saving Certification (preferred).
Education
* High School diploma or equivalent required or must obtain GED within 6 months of hire date.
