An exciting opportunity has arisen for a SEN Teaching Assistant with experience in a school or similar educational setting to join a well-established special school supporting young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs.
This full-time role offers excellent benefits and a salary of £21,000 for a 38-hour work week.
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide support to pupils, enabling them to access the curriculum and achieve their potential.
They are looking for 2 Teaching Assistants.
Responsibilities:
1. Supporting teachers and SENCo to enhance pupil learning and achievement.
2. Encouraging pupil participation in lessons and extracurricular activities.
3. Implementing effective behaviour management strategies in line with school policy.
4. Organising and maintaining a safe, stimulating learning environment.
5. Observing and reporting on pupil progress to relevant staff.
6. Using ICT to support and advance pupil learning.
What we are looking for:
1. Previously worked as a SEN Teaching Assistant, SEND Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Special Needs Teaching Assistant or in a similar role.
2. Experience in a school or similar educational setting.
3. Background working with children or young people, especially those with additional needs (SEND, behavioural, or mental health).
4. Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and the SEND Code of Practice.
5. GCSE or equivalent qualifications, with at least a Grade C in English and Maths.
6. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
