Neonatal Services at ULHT are provided at both Lincoln County Hospital and Pilgrim Hospital, Boston. The Local Neonatal Unit at Lincoln has a cot capacity of 15, providing intensive, high dependency and special care to babies from both Lincolnshire and the surrounding counties.
Main duties of the job
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Deputy Sister that holds a QIS qualification to work as part of the Neonatal Service. Staff will be required to work on an internal rotation basis, including weekends and Bank Holidays and be flexible to meet the needs of the service.

Qualifications
* Current First Level Registered Nurse/RSCN or equivalent
* NMC registered
* Evidence of recent professional development
* Hold current NLS provider certificate
* Evidence of a good command of written and spoken English
* Evidence of study at academic level 3
* Mentorship and preceptorship qualification.
* Assessor and Supervisor for students
Experience
* Recent experience in Neonatal nursing at Band 5
* Evidence of teaching in clinical practice
* Recent experience in providing intensive, high dependency and special care for babies in a neonatal unit
* Evidence of teaching & mentoring pre & post registration staff
* Committed to on-going professional development
Skills
* Good written and oral communication skills when liaising with colleagues, patients, families, carers and the multi-disciplinary team
* Ability to maintain accurate and legible records
* Evidence of effective leadership and management skills.
* Able to manage difficult or complex situations effectively and to work under pressure.
* Basic computer/keyboard skills
* Able to work on own initiative
* Ability to adapt to change
* Ability to prioritise and delegate workload as shift co-ordinator
Specific Requirements
* Ability to work on a shift system covering a 24 hour service.
