OPERATIONS HR ADVISOR (PART TIME)
Our Client, an Aberdeen based oil company, is seeking an experienced Operations HR Advisor. This is a part-time 6-month PAYE contract role, working Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.
Job Overview
The Operations HR Advisor is a fast-paced, hands-on position responsible for the Offshore Asset's end-to-end HR life cycle activities including, but not limited to, recruitment and retention, employee relations, workforce planning, performance management, talent management, payroll, and compensation and benefits. This role supports Logistics/FPSO Crew Management, including minimum manning and emergency response, and covers the Logistics Department during periods of absence.
Role Deliverables and Responsibilities
1. Establish strong relationships with managers and employees to ensure the delivery of a professional, confidential, and value-add HR Service.
2. Support with the annual HR cycle, including areas such as performance management and compensation and benefits, and identify improvements.
3. Participate in the development of HR processes and policies in line with UK Legislative changes and take an active role in embedding and communicating them across the business.
4. Support management with advice on people management aspects of their team; disciplinaries, grievances, etc.
5. Manage long-term and complex absence cases and liaise with the Company's Occupational Health Provider, scheduling Offshore Energies UK (OEUK), Emergency Response Team (ERT), and Fit to Return (FTT) medicals as required for offshore crew.
6. Manage complex Employee Relations cases that may create significant risk to the organisation.
7. Liaise with Offshore Management ensuring workforce planning is in order; resolving manning issues/challenges, planned and unplanned absence, and sourcing additional support as required for the business.
8. Manage the Payroll Exception Report monthly prior to payroll cut-off; review and update over-time, crew changes, absence, and training ensuring this is reported accurately.
9. Support with Payroll processing to include competency banding changes and expense claim forms ensuring the HRIS is updated accordingly.
10. Support with manpower budget and forecast planning ensuring safe manning levels are maintained for the Offshore Asset.
11. Manage the Asset's offshore recruitment and selection process to fill vacancies on time and optimally serve the internal client, supporting Management with Interviewing as required.
12. Liaise with recruitment agencies ensuring the job description and scope for the role is provided to assist their search.
13. Support Management with the yearly Performance Management (Future Focus) Cycle. Providing system input, support, and regular reporting.
14. Maintain accurate and up-to-date HR records within the HRIS and other business systems.
15. Provide input and support to Offshore Audits e.g. ISO 9001/14001, Offshore Training, and Crew Manning Audits.
16. Coordinate monthly headcount and statistical reporting.
17. Attend bi-weekly offshore management / HR meetings.
18. Support the HR Co-ordinator with Offshore Training requirements.
19. Conduct ad-hoc project work as agreed with Corporate HR.
Competencies and Qualifications
Education
Degree in Human Resources discipline and/or CIPD qualified to Level 5.
Work Experience
Extensive Operational Offshore understanding in Logistics/FPSO Crew Management, Manning Levels, and dealing with Emergency Response.
Knowledge, preferred experience, of North Sea Training requirement for Offshore workers.
Generalist HR experience at Advisory level.
Good knowledge of UK employment law and complex case management.
Knowledge and application of HR Systems and Metrics.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills when dealing with people at all levels of the business.
Effective negotiation and influencing skills.
Proficient problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to demonstrate and evaluate problems from different viewpoints and recognise potential causes and provide solutions.
Excellent organisation and time management skills, particularly with attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple and conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment, within a small team. Proactive approach to HR as a value-add function.
