You will have a wide scope of responsibilities and a working understanding of the end-to-end lifespan of product within the business, from sourcing ingredients & packaging all the way through to the finished product leaving the building. Broadly the role will involve: Sourcing (inc for NPD) Negotiating Procurement Ordering The range of products under your control will include: Fresh, frozen and ambient ingredients for the manufacturing process Primary & tertiary packaging Finished product Key responsibilities will include: Sourcing & managing suppliers For items used in production and distribution as well as for the NPD team Also suppliers of other services (rented trays, freezers, recruitment agencies are just some examples) Negotiating with suppliers to get best pricing Inc on NPD items Achieving cost savings will be a key focus for this role/department Ensuring we always have the ingredients & packaging we need when we need it, whilst making sure we're not over-stock Involvement in key projects like building out the warehouse (production room build, racking etc) Providing support with planning & sourcing equipment requirements With a direct line into the COO you'll have access to the key decision makers in the business and benefit from their support and backing. You The position requires a driven individual who enjoys autonomy and thrives in a challenging environment. Bringing a wide range of knowledge and experience to the position, you will have worked in a fast-paced FMCG environment and possess a positive, can-do attitude. You'll be expected to demonstrate a strong understanding of all aspects of the buying function and ideally have direct experience within a food production environment, or show willing to learn and adapt to as required. You will naturally be a strong communicator with good interpersonal skills who can successfully connect with team members at all levels.
