ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Job role: This role covers two vital areas of work at Fight for Peace. We are looking for a creative and passionate communicator who can help us tell the story of Fight for Peace, amplifying the voices of young people and our brand across a variety of media and formats. The role is also responsible for the co-development of training materials that codify the Fight for Peace methodology to be shared with partner organisations nationally and globally. This role is central to Fight for Peace’s work in engaging young people and supporters, raising awareness of the talent and potential of young people, keeping the team of staff informed of what’s happening, and developing high quality copy and visual materials capable of inspiring and educating partners trained by Fight for Peace. The successful candidate will be proactive and creative, have excellent interpersonal and storytelling skills, proven experience in copywriting and content production, and a passion for supporting young people to thrive.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Training material development:
o Co-develop high-quality, on-brand written and visual training materials reflecting the Fight for Peace methodology, history and work around the world and responding to sector needs.
o Liaise with key stakeholders (including Fight for Peace staff/young people, Fight for Peace Alliance and Sport England Systems Partners) to inform, verify and test training content, and gather feedback to improve and update materials.
o Ensure that all materials reflect the Fight for Peace brand, values and communication principles.
2. Content and Storytelling:
o Develop digital content capable of engaging Fight for Peace audiences and raising awareness of the organisation’s work and mission, working alongside colleagues and young people.
o Work with local and national media to amplify Fight for Peace messaging and reach wider audiences.
o Manage social media channels and website, monitoring analytics to inform digital strategy and making updates where required.
3. Brand:
o Promote and elevate Fight for Peace brand by managing design projects, creating communications assets, and monitoring the use of brand internally and externally.
4. Internal Communications:
o Work with colleagues and utilise a range of tools and techniques to ensure that the Fight for Peace team of staff and young people are informed of what’s happening at the organisation, as well as key initiatives, changes, messaging and news.
5. Management of self:
o Develop knowledge, personal skills, time management, being an advocate and representative of the organisation.
o Be effective within a role: learning, well organised, excellent communication.
o Provide line manager with updates on progress of work as well as challenges faced.
SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES
Required:
* Passion for supporting the work of Fight for Peace
* Proven experience in managing social media accounts and websites
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Dedicated, organised and committed to high professional standards
* Experience in and knowledge of digital content creation and media production
* Ability to work independently and proactively
* Excellent attention to detail and a hunger to learn
Desirable:
* Experience in writing, research and copy editing
* Experience working in a communications environment
* Graphic design experience using software such as Adobe Photoshop and Canva
* A passion for social justice
* Fluent in Portuguese
