About the Job
We are looking for an experienced business development professional with a strong understanding of the Transport sector to play a key role in driving growth. You’ll be responsible for achieving business development targets and contributing to the implementation of the sector strategy. As a Business Development Manager, you’ll cultivate and manage relationships with clients, identify new business opportunities, and lead the development of proposals and presentations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Work collaboratively with the Business Development team to ensure alignment with Unipart’s overall objectives.
2. Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the Transport sector, contributing to and exceeding set targets.
3. Support the Transport Director in delivering growth targets aligned with the corporate plan.
4. Contribute to the development and maintenance of the sector strategy, identifying target customers, markets, and services.
5. Assist in shaping Transport sector offerings based on customer insights and working with the engineering and innovation team.
6. Deliver sector-specific value propositions and support marketing efforts in communicating these effectively.
7. Contribute to sector mapping, research, opportunity identification, and development.
8. Support the overall pipeline sector development and provide leads to other sectors as appropriate.
9. Prepare detailed tender information for review, ensuring new business meets profitability targets.
10. Develop and manage new customer relationships.
11. Lead the preparation of tender responses and presentations.
12. Facilitate the smooth transition of new customers to Operations teams.
About You

1. Proven track record in business development within the Transport sector.
2. Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
3. Proactive approach to identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
4. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
5. Ability to influence and negotiate at various levels.
6. Solid commercial and financial acumen.
7. Strong negotiation skills.
