What you'll do
Your key accountabilities will include:
* Responsible for the delivery and project management of the community programme. Implements our Community Framework with bronze, silver, gold level partnerships. Has a particular focus on overseeing the operational delivery of our new "gold" headline charity partnership with YoungMinds and its year-round plans, rigorous tracking of actions to drive delivery, working with teams in foods, clothing & home, marketing and retail. Programme management of "silver" and "bronze" including Sparks charities, local fundraising, and BU charity partnerships e.g. Macmillan, Breast Cancer Now, Royal British Legion etc.
* Works very closely with the teams across Marketing, Colleague Comms, External Comms, Retail Activity & Comms, People Team, Public Affairs to ensure integrated plans are in place for engaging customers, colleagues and media/opinion formers. Co-ordinate the Community Delivery Team (cross business working group) managing agendas, sending actions and notes.
* Owns the process of charity donations - financial forecasts and tracking, ensure finance has all the correct data to manage the payment of donations. Owns the reporting framework for M&S group wide community investment and impact - being clear what is contributed (funds raised by customers/colleagues, cash and product donations, volunteering) and what the social impact is (meals donated/children and families supported etc). Manage the data and comms for the reporting - write the community sections for the ESG Report and the Annual Report.
* Work with legal and business areas to ensure customer solicitation statements and charity contracts are in place. Carry out due diligence on charity partners to ensure the business is compliant with our policies for charitable donation and brand reputation is protected.
* Manage requests and queries from within the business, colleagues, customers and external partners. Owning our response to all queries and requests for charitable donations and ideas.
Who you are
Your skills and experience will include:
* Project management skills, delivery orientated, able to set clear expectations, track milestones, update a cross functional stakeholder group, assess risks and develop solutions to ensure delivery happens as required and on time with quick escalation as required.
* Credible stakeholder and relationship building to drive delivery across the business, with clear written communication for effective meeting prep and follow up. External stakeholder management skills to filter opportunities relevant to business priorities and respond with sensitivity managing M&S's reputation and brand.
* Data and digital competency with strong numerical and excel skills to manage the financial reporting of donations. Verification checking skills to proactively identify issues and resolve discrepancies to ensure accurate tracking and reporting of charity donations (cash, product, time) working with finance and trading teams across the group.
* Proactive approach to work, a self-starter anticipating what needs to be done and driving actions to completion. Can-do attitude and ability to resolve issues quickly.
* Ability to manage multiple projects, concurrently, with competing demands at pace and maintain resilience in a pressured environment.
