This is an exciting opportunity to join the Student Wellbeing Services team as a Disability and Inclusive Practice Adviser. In this role you will provide high-quality support for students disclosing a disability and help students to have positive, equitable experiences, through ensuring an integrated and consistent approach to disability and promoting the development of inclusive practice across all university departments.
The Disability and Inclusive Practice Service team assesses and coordinates the academic disability support requirements of over 3000 disabled students each year. Our aim is to put the student at the centre of our service delivery model. You will work in partnership with academic and professional services staff in faculties and academic departments to ensure discipline and disability specific adjustments, interventions, awareness raising, and expert information, advice and guidance are in place. The role involves substantial independent decision-making responsibilities and Advisers are required to develop specialist knowledge in one or more nominated area of expertise; support will be provided to enable you to develop this expertise.
We have two Disability and Inclusive Practice Adviser roles available, one a permanent full-time post and the other a fixed-term role (maternity cover, secondments will be considered) available to support our partnership with Frontline to deliver their social work training programme for more information on Frontline see ).
