Overall Objective
To provide administrative assistance within our Residential Conveyancing department. Working alongside Solicitors and Paralegals, you will be responsible for providing assistance in running conveyancing transactions with tasks including drafting legal documents, liaising with lenders, and general administrative duties.
You will be a point of contact for enquiries, providing 1st class customer service to our clients, ensuring all transactions managed from offer through to completion are handled with professionalism and high-quality attention to detail to meet the needs of both internal and external clients, whilst demonstrating our core values.
The successful candidate will be expected to use a significant degree of self-management and initiative and is expected to work as part of a team.
This role is based within Edinburgh.
Required Knowledge and Experience
* Previous experience of working within a Conveyancing department is preferred but not essential.
Skills Required
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and work to deadlines.
* Excellent typing skills.
* Ability to develop strong working relationships within the team and communicate concisely both verbally and in writing with both internal and external clients.
* A professional telephone manner with the ability to engage with clients.
* A calm, helpful, and professional approach.
* A full working knowledge of MS Office applications.
Tasks
* Liaising with clients, providing updates and taking accurate messages.
* Order Redemption Statements.
* Order multi-search from PSS and nearer settlement, order updated searches.
* Prepare the Standard Securities, Disposition, Discharges, and LBTT.
* Lodge Advance Notices.
* Update LMS and Lender Exchange.
* Keep track of discharges received and register them.
* Send the updated title sheet to lender, client, and other party’s solicitors.
* Completing all allocated tasks and day-to-day general correspondence.
* Use of LawPro, our case management system.
* Diary management.
* General administration support.
