The successful candidate will be confident in challenging decisions and will have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. What is the role? Based at our Sheffield site and reporting to the Engineering Manager, your main tasks will be the repair and planned maintenance of injection moulding machines, plant facilities, and all other equipment. There will be ongoing continuous improvement projects and some development engineering work may also be available to an appropriately qualified candidate. You will work a Panama 12-hour rotating days/nights pattern. A flexible, ‘can do’ attitude is therefore paramount. Who you are The ideal candidate should ideally be apprentice trained with experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment. You will be extremely team-oriented and IT literate, with excellent communication skills. You should be either mechanically or electrically biased, but with a sound knowledge of the opposite discipline, if not all the following: Pneumatics Electric controls and circuits Hydraulics Bench fitting Maintaining injection moulding machines Milling Turning PPM (planned preventive maintenance) PLC programming/interrogation whilst not essential, would be a distinct advantage Electrical fault finding We would also consider semi-skilled maintenance engineers/technicians who are qualified by experience, who have some of the skills listed above.
