Job Title: Financial Controller/Bookkeeper Company: Residential & Commercial Estate Agency Location: Braintree, Essex Position Type: Full, Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm or Part time considered Salary: £28,000 - £30,000 per annum, dependent on experience Benefits: 20 days of annual leave plus bank holidays Potential for additional benefits (to be discussed) Overview: We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Financial Controller/Bookkeeper to join our dynamic team at an established Residential and Commercial Estate Agency. This role is pivotal in ensuring the financial health and operational efficiency of our organization. Key Responsibilities: Manage day-to-day financial transactions including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations of both the business accounts and managed property accounts. Prepare financial statements and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations. Monitor cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting to provide timely financial insights to management. Collaborate with external accountants for year-end processes and audits. Maintain accurate records of financial transactions and ensure compliance with legal requirements and company policies. Assist in financial planning and analysis to support business decisions. Conduct periodic reviews of financial performance against budgets and forecasts. Implement and maintain financial controls and procedures to safeguard company assets. Handle any ad-hoc financial tasks and projects as required. Skills and Qualifications: Proven experience as a Financial Controller, Bookkeeper, or similar role, preferably within the real estate or property management sector. Proficiency in accounting software Sage and MS Office, particularly Excel. Solid understanding of accounting principles and regulations. Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
